Exciting news for residents and travelers in the south! Authorities in Badung Regency have officially finalized the boundaries for the final three sections of the highly anticipated South Ring Road, specifically covering the stretch between Balangan Beach and Jimbaran. With this critical approval finalized, the project is officially moving into its next phase, with construction works scheduled to take place between 2026 and 2027.

Clearing the Path for Progress

One of the biggest hurdles in any major infrastructure project is land acquisition, but significant progress has already been made. Most of the necessary land is already secured, including sections in the notoriously complex and congested area near Bingin Beach.

Once finished, this 12-kilometer coastal artery will create a seamless connection between Uluwatu and Jimbaran, stretching all the way from the Pecatu Suluban area to Jalan Raya Karang Mas.

Why This Project is a Game-Changer

The South Ring Road stands as one of Bali’s most ambitious infrastructure undertakings to date. For years, the West Bukit has faced accessibility challenges despite being a primary tourism hub. Currently, traffic is funneled through two main arteries:

  • Uluwatu Street

  • Labuan Sait Street

Because these are the only existing routes linking the West Bukit to the rest of the island, they are under constant, heavy strain.

A Brighter, Faster Future

The completion of the South Ring Road is expected to be the "pressure valve" the region needs. By providing a modern alternative route, the project aims to:

  • Drastically reduce traffic congestion on existing local roads.

  • Enhance connectivity between major beaches and resort areas.

  • Boost the local economy by making one of Bali’s most beautiful regions easier to navigate for everyone.

Stay tuned as we get closer to the 2026 construction kick-off!
