Regardless of the immediate threat of a volcanic eruption Bali is still a place worth visiting any time of the year. If you have cancelled or are planning to cancel your upcoming trip to Bali because of the volcano threat, don't as majority of the tourist attractions in Bali are outside the threat. Let us give you a number yes that is 98% of the attractions.

These stats are not made as they were recently issued by the Bali Tourism Board who is standing its ground and fighting the good fight. They are making sure that such event doesn't mislead people in thinking that Bali is not safe at the moment. The only tourist area on the highest alert is Karangasem which is about 75 km from the central attraction of tourist known as Kuta.

An estimate has been given which shows that around seventy thousand travelers are expected to cancel their trips to Bali between October-November. This is where Bali Tourism Board decided to step up to spread awareness. They are again and again focusing on the information that about 12 Km exclusion zone from the volcano's crater is the highest alert area while the rest of the Island is safe to do all sorts of activities.

The only possibility of people getting affected is wind carrying the ash towards the airport which may result in affecting the flights but that has been a normal practice in the recent years.

“According to information from the National Disaster Mitigation Agency, 98 percent of the tourist areas remain safe in Bali, even if Mount Agung erupts,” Dewa Gede Ngurah Byomantara, head of the Boards Bali Tourism Hospitality Division 3, said on Wednesday.

“Kuta, Ubud, Nusa Dua, and Sanur are located far from Mount Agung. Until now, we believe that the area beyond 12 kilometers from Mount Agungs crater remains safe,” he added.

Indonesian Tourism Minister Arief Yahya has been seen promoting a similar message to spread awareness that Bali is still safe for both foreigners and local tourists. He has repeatedly said that they have taken all the necessary precautions and are well prepared to handle the eruption.
