Bali Provincial Government is taking some serious steps to ensure the prosperity in the province. A recent announcement by the Governor was welcomed by everyone which stated that they are going to make sure that 1000 SMK vocational school graduates may get good jobs on cruise ships.

Right now the traffic of cruise ships isn't that high in Bali. However the government's approach right now is "if you build it, they will come" and it can be seen taken seriously by the cruise ship terminal construction which is expected to be completed by 2018 in Benoa.

SMK graduates shouldn’t worry about bearing any expenses to take jobs on cruises ships, Bali Governor Made Mangku Pastika said on Tuesday.

“The government will cover all costs, whether it be for passports, visas, or ticket fees. Do not think about the cost, the government will bear it 100 percent,” Pastika said during a working visit to six public SMK schools in Singaraja on Tuesday.

The provincial government of Bali has now allocated a great deal in a budget to easily accommodate 1000 SMK graduates to work on ships and they are also focusing and prioritizing the opportunities for more students in need. It is their way and effort to break the chain of poverty.

“I ask that schools register students from lower socioeconomic backgrounds. If they want to work on cruise ships, they should focus on their education, improve their English skills, so they will be more competitive.”

He has also requested and encouraged schools and institutions with unused lands to build hostels, dormitories for students and teachers who live far away.
