More than 3.4 million people in Bali have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, according to official data, which means the province has completed the first phase of its vaccination target.

Bali is just behind the Indonesian capital Jakarta in terms of vaccination rates, and is expected to fully immunize its target population soon. As of November 7, nearly 3 million people had been fully vaccinated in Bali, according to data from the Ministry of Health. This number represents approximately 87 percent of the provincial immunization target.

Although immunization targets for government officials and health workers have been met, Bali still has ways to reach parents and the general public, as the numbers for both groups are still below 60%.

Denpasar City and Badung Regency had the highest number of fully immunized people, nearly 700,000 and over 451,000, respectively. It is currently the only area in Bali that has reached its vaccination target.

The COVID-19 situation in Bali has gradually improved since the sharp mid-year increase triggered by the Delta variant, as authorities reported 11 new cases and one death yesterday.
