Bali, Island of Gods gives you the opportunity of relaxing your soul while feeding on your thirst for adventure. You can hike through the jungles, volcanoes, lie on the beautiful beaches or tour the beautiful temples. This is diversity that makes this Indonesian Island as one of the most popular destination in the world. It also makes it difficult for you to decide what to pack. Here are four mandatory things that you definitely need to pack in your bag.

That Pair of Flip Flops

Flip Flops are the go to shoes throughout the Southeast Asia and Bali is no exception. The waterproof pair is cool and easy to take off whenever you enter a building, since its a custom at many place. So make sure a pair is packed in your bag even if you forget to pack them you can find them for cheap in Bali as well. Just try to stay away from the expensive packing or the branded ones. In addition to flip-flops, you'll want to pack a sturdier pair of shoes for hiking, a pair for nice restaurants and a pair that will keep your feet protected if you're planning to rent a motorbike or do other adventurous, toe-endangering activities.

A Coverup

Even though most of the time you'll be wearing your bathing suit on the beaches of Bali and it is mostly acceptable, you'll want to pack a cover up in your bag before you leave. Residents of Bali most of the time tend to dress conservatively so to show them respect it is important to not walk around in a bathing suit. Also try to bring clothing that covers your shoulders and knees if you are planning to visit the holy sites like temples and shrines. Sarong in a daypack is a great idea.

A Basic First Aid Kit

It is always a great idea to pack up the basic first aid kit for your trip to any where. So you can take care of those minor headaches or cuts immediately. Bring a few items without overdoing it since there are many pharmacies where you can get any thing you may need in routine life. Packing the basic first aid kid may save you from the trouble of looking through the pharmacies to find the items you may need. We strongly recommend that you bring a bug repellent, sun screen and anti diarrhea medicines.

Water Proof Jacket

Bali is a tropical Island so in most cases you may not need the extra warmth. However in indoors or in transportation you may come across places with overzealous air conditioning units. You can also use them as modesty while visiting the holy sites or as an extra layer if you are planning on spending time at the cooler mountains. Visiting during the rainy season, the light waterproof jacket will come handy in case of sudden downpours.
