The provincial government of Bali has announced that the island can receive 70 visitors from Singapore as of February 16.
Bali Governor I Wayan Koster has confirmed that after receiving 12 travelers from Narita International Airport on 3 February 2022, the island will be able to welcome another group of international visitors from Singapore on 16 February.
"We haven't received any international arrivals since the February 3 flight from Japan, but we have been informed that there will be visitors from Singapore arriving on February 16 on Singapore Airlines," said Koster, Wednesday (9/2).
However, Koster admitted that the flight schedule would still depend on the Covid-19 situation in Bali.
"Although the airline plans to carry 70 passengers, everything is still tentative and will depend on the situation, especially with the current upgrade of Omicron transmissions," added Koster.
He said reopening borders was inevitable as many travelers had asked the government to remove their travel restrictions.
"We should have implemented strict preventive protocols when accepting foreign tourists," concluded Koster.
