bali man famous for spraying insecticide in his mouth passed away

I Wayan Merta Aka Ki Galang Pamungkas who became viral for spraying insecticide in his mouth passed away on Sunday. With his passing many related his death to his dangerous hobby. However his family has come forward and confirmed that his death was not related to the stunt.

He was a famous spiritual guru in Bali but he gained recognition for videos showing him spraying Baygon in to his mouth. Baygon is a popular insecticide brand in Indonesia.

 I Nyoman Saputra, brother of Ki Galang, dismissed the rumor about his death due to regular consumption of Baygon. 

“As his brother I am dismissing [rumors] that Ki Galang died because of insecticide. He died because of a heart attack,” Saputra told local media outlets.

Saputra confirmed that Ki Galang passed away in a hospital in Jimbaran and his medical records are a proof of his cause of death due to a cardiac arrest.

He also shared that the viral videos of Ki Galang spraying the insecticide are at least two years old. 

“After that he never did it again because, from our family, we did not allow him to consume insecticide,” Saputra said.
