Doni Monardo, the head of national task force said on Monday that Bali is now included in the priority list for Covid-19 handling as the worrisome spike was observed in corona virus infections resulting in high occupancy of hospital beds.

As per the official data display Bali has the third highest bed occupancy rate in Indonesia with over 61.6 percent and it has surpassed the alarming recommendation of WHO.

The numbers were last updated on Sept. 24, and reflected 835 treated patients in Bali and 1,356 available ICU and isolation beds for COVID-19 patients.

In a statement given on September 10 by Ketut Suarjaya the Chief of Bali health agency, he showed concern about Bali running out of hospital beds. As the number of cases have doubled in numbers for daily count as compared to the previous week.

It was previously on record that Bali has 778 hospital beds to treat the patients of covid-19 and the caseload this month has now prompted the officials to increase the capacity of the hospital beds and designate more facilities to cater the corona virus patients.

Bali reported 107 additional COVID-19 cases today, bringing the provincial total to 8,639. More than 1,200 people are currently in treatment, and another 263 have died from the viral disease.
