bali's green zone covid-19 vaccination drive kicks off

Mass vaccination drive targeting over 170,000 people in Nusa Dua, Ubud and Sanur successfully kicked off on 22nd March. This is a step forward in preparing Bali for the reopening of foreign tourism by the mid of this year.

“Establishing these three green zones is a smart move in the effort to open Bali’s tourism. By providing vaccines, supported with implementation of strict health protocols and discipline, then green zones in these three areas will be a reality,” Dewa Made Indra, regional secretary of the Bali administration, said in a statement.

A "Travel Corridor Arrangement" is being proposed by Indonesian officials with several countries that are successful in containing the corona virus spread with high vaccination ratio  and could offer reciprocal benefits, Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Uno previously said — giving examples of countries like the Netherlands, China, United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Singapore.

However nothing is finalized yet except for the designation of the covid free green zones in Bali and the kick off the vaccination program in the designated areas.
