A Bali provincial government official said authorities activated all of the island's emergency sirens on April 26.

Bali Provincial Government Secretary Dewa Indra pointed out that following the latest decree issued on Monday (4/18), authorities must turn on all emergency sirens.

This is part of the Bali-wide natural disaster exercise on Tuesday morning (4/26). The government aims to commemorate the annual Disaster Preparedness Day and practice disaster evacuation plans.

"All offices and organizations on the island will participate in the natural disaster drill on April 26 at 10:00 a.m. by turning on all sirens and emergency bells," Indra said.

Authorities in each region will implement evacuation plans and drills based on potential natural disasters that may occur in their region.

This program was also launched to create procedures adapted to the management of emergency situations. They aim to form an intervention team, prepare emergency equipment and carry out periodic simulations and assessments to anticipate potential disasters.
