On Friday (2/7), the Bali Military Force in Denpasar
began giving Covid-19 vaccinations to its youngsters aged 12 to 17.
Colonel Ckm Dr. I Made Mardika, Head of Udayana IX
Bali Military Health, announced that Bali will be the first province in
Indonesia to provide the Covid-19 vaccination to children. “This is the first
time that youngsters from our military forces between the ages of 12 and 17
will get the Covid-19 vaccine.” Colonel Mardika made the announcement on Friday
(2/7).
During the vaccination campaign at the Udayana Health
Military Force Denpasar, Mardika stated that the authorities only provided half
of the regular amount of the Covid vaccine from Sinovac. He further stated that
this initiative is available to public citizens as well as youngsters from the
military forces. “The vaccination facility is accessible to the public and will
be open every day as long as there are Covid vaccinations available.” Mardika explained.
The vaccine was delivered to approximately 300 persons
on the first day, with 150 of them being youngsters. Before getting the
vaccination, individuals must present their identification. Mardika also
intends to extend this initiative to adjacent communities in the near future in
order to decrease the danger of Covid-19 exposures to children in such places.
“We intend to run a similar operation in West and East Nusa Tenggara because we
still have 14,000 doses of the Sinovac vaccine left.” We also continue to
remind the youngsters to follow prevention protocols.” Mardika concluded.
