denpasar 25 km bike lane established from sanur to cultural center

The world saw an increase of a new community during the pandemic and that is Biking Community. So if you are one of those who joined the cycling boom in Pandemic you should consider Denpasar as your next riding destination as a new 25 kilometer bike lane has been established by the city.

“The opening of the bike lane, which is also integrated with Trans Metro Dewata, is expected to inspire the public that’s been cycling a lot lately. Especially now that Car Free Day remains suspended because of the COVID-19 pandemic,” I Ketut Sriawan, who heads Denpasar’s Transportation Agency, said yesterday. 

Sriawan also shared that this 25 kilometer trek is hardly the first phase as the second phase is in plans for 2021.

The journey can be started by the cyclists from city's cultural center aka Dharma Negara Alaya. This route on the eastern side can take them all the way to Sanur beach.

So if you are planning to ride the new bike lane in Denpasar, do hop on the new bus system of the province from one of their station  Jl. Gajah Mada is located along the established route. Trans Metro Dewata Bus system has recently been launched in September as an alternative public transportation. Citizens can give it a whirl for free until December, as the regional government hopes to attract more people to use the buses.
