Humor can be dangerous and uncomfortable but still some people find it hard to understand where to stop. A recent example of this happened at Garuda Indonesia Flight from Papuan City Timika on its way to Denpasar on Monday. A passenger thought it would be funny to crack a bomb joke but understandably it wasn't and he was pulled of from the flight.
The passenger identified with initials WH was asked by another passenger whose bag seemed heavy ‘What do you have in your bag?’“WA immediately and spontaneously responded: ‘Bomb,’” Papua Police spokesman AM Kamal said in Jayapura on Monday.
Most of the passengers who may or may not have been amused by the joke, the flight attendants who overheard the conversation were most certainly not happy with it. Eventually they reported it and the belongings of WH were thoroughly searched and nothing was found, WH did apologize for the joke but it didn't allow him to go off easily. He was taken in custody by the local police to the station for detailed questioning.
“WH was immediately removed by field supervisors from the aircraft cabin and reported to Timika Airport Police headquarters related to his statement that he was carrying a bomb,” Kamal said.
“We hope flight passengers refrain from saying things that can disrupt flights,” he added.
Bomb jokes still happen a lot more than you can imagine and still people fail to understand the intensity of this topic. A Saudi Man was also forced off a Lion Air Flight in Bali before take off very recently in March 2017. In 2016 another man was stopped from boarding when he also thought it would be funny to crack a bomb joke.
