A main focus of Indonesian officials are to improve the health standards & hygiene specially at the famous tourist sites throughout the country. Hence Bali being the most popular tourist destination takes a start with revitalizing facilities in Bali this month.
Director at the Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry for Regional Destination, Wawan Gunawan stated about the upcoming phase of the revitalization program will focus on the improvement of the destinations across the island that will be adjusted and prioritized on the need of the site.
“At this time, hygiene and health are extremely important things for travelers,” Wawan said.
Tourism players and Officials of Indonesia have already signaled about their preparations of the new world post covid-19 that looks quite different from the pre-covid19. New strategies have been developed that focus on hygiene and health.
The new revitalization program will kick off this month and will focus on upgrading the facilities by adding sanitation facilities such as washrooms & toilets. As per the tourist departments deputy of Infrastructure and destination development, Hari Sungkari, confirmed that many tourist sites are not equipped with such amenities.
“It’s very important for tourist destinations to keep their toilets clean, according to international standards,” Hari said.
“They don’t have to be luxurious, but the facilities and toilet amenities must be well-equipped and functioning properly,” said Nani Sumaryati Firmansyah of the Indonesian Toilet Association.
“If a tourist’s first impression of the toilet is bad, then they will immediately think that the tourist site is badly managed,” Nani said.
