Indonesia treats drug trafficking as one of the unforgivable crime as compared to the other regions of the world. Most drug traffickers either face life sentence or death penalty. The drug trafficking is also one of the major problem faced here as well. State and the police department is doing everything in their control to make sure that they put an end to it. A drop has been observed recently as well in the drug trafficking as well. Indonesia anti-drugs agency Chief has recently proposed a unique james bond style plan to the government to for the prison for drug convicts which has gotten international attention. The proposal is to build a prison on an Island which should be guarded by crocodiles to hold death penalty drug convicts. It is a pet project of the Chief Budi Waseso who has already planned to visit different places to find the most ferocious and dangerous kind of crocodiles there are. "We will place as many crocodiles as we can there. I will search for the most ferocious type of crocodile," he was quoted as saying by local news website Tempo. His logic behind this plan is that he believes that crocodiles will be better at guarding and preventing the escape attempts as they can not be bribed unlike humans. The plan is not yet final and no opening date or location for the jail has been confirmed or announced. President Joko Widodo is however insisted that drug traffickers should face death penalty as the drug issue has already become a national emergency. On the other hand the jail idea is to only keep the drug traffickers only to stop them from socializing with other prisoners to avoid any potential recruitment or expansion.
