The Klungkung area has been designated as Bali's only green area after recording zero Covid-19 transmissions for the past few weeks.

Head of Task Force for Accelerating Covid-19 Management Klungkung I Nyoman Suwirta assured that Klungkung region has become a green zone after recording zero cases of Covid-19 since early December 2021.

He said it would be a sign for the government to start focusing on taking concrete steps towards post-pandemic economic recovery.

This qualification is determined by measuring several indicators, including daily active cases, regional epidemiologists, public health surveillance, public health services and the recovery rate of Covid-19 patients.

However, with this achievement comes a warning that everyone must continue to comply with the Covid-19 protocol to avoid further increases in Covid-19 transmission, especially with the Omicron variant.

Although Klungkung has been designated a green zone, Suwirta has announced that it will continue all Covid-19 related government programs in the area.

“We will continue all Covid-19 management programs, such as the primary school student vaccination program and the seniors vaccination booster program. We will also regularly inspect public spaces for the implementation of protocols for prevention,” concluded Suwirta.
