Something that seems out of a Hollywood movies happened recently in Bali. A woman in heart breaking condition was found on Sunday 20th September in a sewer full of rubbish. The woman aged 46 has been identified with initials (DE).

“She had been missing for 8 months before she was found yesterday”, said Head of Buleleng Pamong Praja Officer I Putu Artawan.“We found her in a sewer next to the Curastana Cemetery, Buleleng. We assumed that depression is the cause of her behavior after loosing her parents and also has an internal problem with her family”, Artawan added. She had been relying on the nearby villagers to feed her everyday.

A mediation service is being planned to be provided between her and the family by Buleleng Sosial Services so her her treatment for mental condition can be discussed. Head of Buleleng Social Services Putu Kariaman Putra said also showed concern that they might have to suggest the family to bring her to a mental hospital if the condition is too severe.

DE was reported as missing since January 20 2020 and villagers have observed her living in the sewers since last two months. “After being found, we have cleaned her and will bring her back home on Temukus Village, Buleleng, Singaraja District tomorrow on Monday”, Putra added.
