An official of Ngurah Rai International Airport said more than 134000 people flew to Bali in March, signaling that its a sign of return of tourism to Bali, a little slow but steady.
Ngurah Rai Airport observed an increase of 74% of incoming travelers in March compared to February 2021, shared by Herry A.Y Sikado, general manager of airport management firm PT Angkasa Pura I.This amounts to 134,558 passengers, on top of 129,512 passengers who flew out of Denpasar in March.
Lombok, Jakarta, Surabaya are the famous routes with with a total of 2,845 aircraft movements recorded last month according to Herry.
“Those numbers only reflect domestic passengers, because international flights are not yet open,” Herry said.
“We will ensure that with this statistical increase in March 2021 for both passengers and aircraft movements, Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali will continue to uphold service standards especially in implementing health protocols according to existing procedures.”
Herry also confirmed that airport's staff are among the priority list of receiving Corona virus vaccines in the province.
