These changes were announced following the Forum Lalu Lintas & Angkutan Jalan (LLAJ) meeting and will undergo a trial implementation starting Monday, December 8, 2025, or as soon as road resurfacing works are completed.

Below is a clear summary to help residents, workers, and visitors navigate the updated routes.

Why Are These Changes Being Implemented?

The Kerobokan–Petitenget corridor is one of the busiest lifestyle and hospitality zones in Bali. With hundreds of cafés, restaurants, villas, resorts, and nightlife destinations in the area, traffic jams—especially around intersections like Petitenget, Batu Belig, and Raya Kerobokan—have become persistent.

The new traffic system aims to:

  • Reduce congestion at major intersections
  • Improve travel flow toward Seminyak and Petitenget
  • Enhance safety for both motorists and pedestrians
  • Support better long-term urban mobility planning

Key Traffic Flow Changes You Need to Know

Based on the official circular and route map, several major roads in Kerobokan Kelod and Petitenget will now operate under modified one-way or directional flow rules.

1. Jl. Gunung Tangkuban Perahu → One-Way Eastbound

All vehicles (cars + motorbikes) must move from West to East toward Simpang Pengubengan Kangin (Intersections 1–4).

2. Jl. Raya Kerobokan → One-Way Northbound

From Simpang Petitenget (Intersections 4, 11, 12) traffic flows North toward Simpang Semer.

3. Jl. Raya Kerobokan (Petitenget Route) → One-Way Southbound

From Simpang Petitenget (Intersections 4, 10, 9) traffic flows South toward Simpang Oberoi.

4. Jl. Petitenget → New Restrictions

Vehicles coming from the North (Petitenget/Batubelig) toward intersection No. 5 may not turn right.
Drivers must turn left toward Kerobokan or continue straight depending on signage.

5. Jl. Merta Agung → One-Way Southbound

From intersections 13 → 3, this road becomes Southbound only for all vehicles.

6. Jl. Pengubengan Kauh → One-Way Eastbound

From intersections 12,13 → 14, traffic moves East only, with mandatory right-turn rules at specific points.

7. Jl. Beraban → One-Way Westbound

From intersection 10 → 7, access is limited to Westbound only.

What This Means for Daily Travel
  • Drivers coming to Petitenget, Batu Belig, Oberoi, Kerobokan, and Seminyak will need to adjust their routes accordingly.
  • Several commonly used shortcuts (especially through small intersections) may now require taking longer loops.
  • Ride-hailing services like Gojek and Grab will likely update route guidance, but delays may occur during the adjustment period.
  • Businesses, restaurants, and hotels in the area are encouraged to notify guests to avoid confusion and ensure smooth access.

Important: Trial Period & Monitoring

The regulation begins with a trial period starting December 8, 2025, with monitoring from Dinas Perhubungan to determine:

  • Traffic improvement effectiveness
  • Peak-hour impacts
  • Community feedback
  • Potential need for adjustments

The official document encourages all stakeholders to help socialize the changes to the public for everyone's safety and convenience.
