The central government has implemented level II measures on the
extended partial lockdown in Bali.
Dr. Ketut Suarjaya, the Head of the Bali Health Agency,
acknowledged that the leniency on the partial lockdown policy was given because
the Bed Occupancy Ratio (BOR) of Bali hospitals has drastically fallen.
"Covid-19 transmissions in Bali have declined dramatically in recent days,
and our bed occupancy ratio is less than 10%." On Wednesday (20/10), Dr.
Suarjaya stated.
Suarjaya stated that 479 Covid-19 patients are now being segregated
at several hospitals across the island. He did, however, admit that the
recovery rate of Covid-19 in Bali is increasing. "Our Covid-19 recovery
rate has grown to 96.5 percent, while the death rate has decreased to 3.53
percent." Dr. Suarjaya stated.
Meanwhile, Dewa Ketut Kresna, the Head of the Sanglah Hospital
Public Relations Officer, revealed that Sanglah Hospital only has 20 Covid-19
patients left in their institution, and that number has been steadily
decreasing in recent weeks. However, Dewa Gede Rai, spokesman for the Denpasar
Covid-19 Handling Task Force, advises residents to continue following the
government's orders in order to keep Covid-19 cases from spreading in Denpasar.
