plans to connect tourism hotspots with trams & electric buses in bali

INKA, state owned manufacturer of Indonesia recently said that they are going to develop an electric based transportation system in Bali which is a great potential infrastructure project for the Island of Gods.

A memorandum of understanding has been signed between Bali administration regional holding company (Perusda) and INKA. As per the memorandum the both parties have agreed on the development of transportation system which will eventually create a joint venture for the future operations.

“INKA and Perusda Bali will be developing a city transportation system powered on batteries, such as trams and electric buses,” Budi Noviantoro, who is CEO of INKA, said in a statement.

This transportation system will cover majority of Bali's main tourist hot spots including Kuta, Sanur and Ubud while in the future it will cover Bali Cultural Center in Gunaksa, Klungkung regency.

Ngurah Rai International Airport and Sanur. 

Earlier in August, Koster also emphasized on the need for integrated and connected infrastructure in order to develop the regional economy based on local resources.
