Everything was going normal in the Central Java until Sunday morning when the Sileri Crater at Dieng Plateau suddenly erupted and spewed cold lava along with mud & ash. The eruption of lava went as high up as 50m as per the resources at National Disaster Management Agency.
Authorities immediately dispatched Soldiers and Police officers for the rescue. Visitors and locals were asked to evacuate the area to avoid any casualties in case of further eruptions. Nugorho National Disaster Mitigation Agency further confirmed that volcano seems to be silent since Monday morning and all the visitors and locals in the area have been evacuated.
A rescue helicopter also crashed who came for the rescue to help in evacuating the residents near the active volcano. The crashed killed all eight people on board. The helicopter is said to have crashed just 3 minutes before arrival at Dieng Plateau, which is a famous tourist area to rescue the 10 injured people.
The crash has been confirmed by Maj. Gen. Heronimus Guru, deputy operations chief of the National Search and Rescue Agency.
He told The Associated Press, “We are now at the Bhayangkara Hospital in Semarang,” the Central Java provincial capital where the victims’ bodies were taken. Brig. Gen.
