Officials have shared more details about "Free Covid-19 Corridor" with Ubud and Nusa Dua on priority list of destinations for the program.

Wayan Koster, Governor of Bali shared in a virtual conference that detailed discussion has been done between Health Ministry and the Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry to discuss the possibilities. The initial focus will be vaccination in the two designated areas.

As per Koster a total of 120k vaccines are required to inoculate the population and the workers in these two areas. He further explained that the administration plans to finish the phase of vaccination by the end of this month before potentially reopening to domestic tourism in May.

Though Indonesians from all regions are not barred or prohibited to enter Bali however they are required to present a negative PCR or angiten rapid test result

depending on the mode of transportation, to reach the province. In regards to the “free COVID-19 corridor” plan, however, it seems that domestic tourists will serve as subjects in trial runs before potentially opening up to foreign tourists.

“We want to be even more prepared as COVID-19 cases decline in Indonesia and especially in Bali, so we initiate these green zones so we can start reopening tourism for several countries, such as China [and] Singapore,” Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Uno said.

Koster and Sandiga both have emphasized that the current reopening plan will only be feasible after daily record cases of Bali are less than 100. Once the target is achieved officials will continue their plan of actual reopening of Indonesian borders.
