The central government plans to continue the visa-on-arrival policy for international visitors in the near future, thereby canceling the sponsor's visa policy.

The Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan has confirmed that the visa on arrival policy will continue in anticipation of the recently reported visa brokering operation by the Bali provincial government.

"We will continue the visa onarrival policy so that travelers can access the island without a sponsor visa," Luhut said, Friday.

Luhut started this policy after receiving a report from the Deputy Governor of Bali, Tjokorda Oka Artha Ardhana Sukawati (Cok Ace) regarding the operation of several visa brokers offering express visas at premium prices through social media.

Luhut said the government also plans to test the zero quarantine policy once the island's medical facilities are ready.

During his visit, Luhut ensured that the hospital on the island was equipped with adequate health facilities.

"Before implementing the zero quarantine policy, we need to ensure that the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and other medical services at Sanglah Hospital Denpasar are ready to operate at their maximum capacity," concluded Luhut.
