Famous Chinese messaging app Wechat recently conducted a survey and learned that 80% of chinese consumers made holiday and travel decisions in China through the influence of internet. "Therefore, internet marketing is essential to improve the brand's influence," said Didadee Weibo authorized partner in Southeast Asia and executive director Ng Yeen Tong in a press release.

This survey to Weibo suggesting Indonesian tourism operators  focusing on spreading awareness and information through selective social media platforms available in China. The reason wechat and weibo were referred because mainstream social media websites like Facebook, Instagram, Google and Youtube are blocked in china.

The surveys conducted by the company also confirmed that 2016 was the year where the chinese tourists were higher in number in visiting Indonesia than Australian tourists. NG further explained that this change was the result of visa free policy and Ministry of Tourism’s effort to promote Indonesia. "With the promising growth, we believe that now is the best time to promote Bali brands to Chinese tourists," she said.
