A foreign national with the initials DMDG (56) from the Netherlands was deported for running a digital business in Bali.

Singaraja Class II Immigration Office Chief Nanang Mustofa has confirmed that the man from the Netherlands was deported for running a digital business without a visa while in Bunutan Abang village, in Karangasem.

"The Dutch player continues to run his digital business even though he knows it's not allowed in his current visa," Nanang said on Sunday (1/23).

The authorities received information relating to the activities of the DMDG during routine checks carried out by immigration officers in Singaraja. They were told that DMDG profited from its digital business by creating websites for its clients when they were in Karangasem.

Shortly after, officers interviewed the DMDG and reviewed its legal documents. They discovered that DMDG was living on a temporary resident card (KITAS), which expires on December 23, 2022.

"As a KITAS holder, he is not allowed to run a business in Bali, so we had to expel him for violating Article 75 Number 1 of the Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia Number 6 regarding the immigration," Nanang concluded.

Nanang warns all expats to comply with Indonesian regulations in Bali.
