Bali's most iconic temple and famous tourist attraction Tanah Lot temple has launched E-ticketing system on 15th October. Tourists and the visitors who have been here previously know that the old system involved staff ripping a part of your ticket before letting you inside the complex. This is now a thing of the past, the new e-ticketing system will provide tourists a barcode for the entry.

“The application of e-ticketing is only different for the entry tickets, which will now come with barcodes, and will be scanned by a [ticket] checker. Each staff on duty will be equipped with a portable validation machine,” I Ketut Toya Adnyana, an operational manager at Tanah Lot, told Tribun-Bali, referring to a barcode scanner.

E-Ticketing system in Tanah Lot will be a pilot model on a trial run before it is implemented throughout the main tourist attractions on the Island, according to Tabanan regent, Ni Putu Eka Wiryastuti. Majority of Bali's most iconic and classic destinations including the temples are still operating on the old fashioned ticketing system. However new developments and attractions like Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park in Ungasan has already adopted and operating on the barcode methodology allowing their visitors to buy the tickets online to save time and the hassle.
