With the recent hype of the expansion of Ngurah International Airport in Denpasar, Bali lovers have a great news as it is going to be home to a floating International Airport. This new project airport is to be constructed on a beach of Kubutambahan in Buleleng. Tribunnews.com reported that a Canadian Investor has come up with the idea and has shown interest in building the floating airport at Buleleng beach. I Made Mangku who is the spoke person of the investor confirmed that according to the plan this airport will be constructed on 1400 hectare of reclaimed water area of the beach. He further explained that it will contain two runways, A bridge of 125 meters which will connect it with the mainland. “According to the master plan, part of the beach will be reclaimed but will not be converted into an island and water will continue to float under the airport. Construction will be supported by concrete piles,” he said. This airport project is estimated to reach around Rp 30 Trillion and investor has already prepared the 80 percent of it.
