After a video of four foreigners partying went viral on social media in the current nightmare times of Covid-19, Police approached and questioned them.

Brig. Gen. Argo Yuwono Spokesperson of National Police confirmed that the four foreigners identified with initials JAM, MDM, YS and EM. were questioned by the police.

“They were ordered to write a statement of compliance, saying they would not repeat their mistakes. They are also required to regularly report to the police,” Argo said during a press briefing on Tuesday.

He added that police also seized a number of mobile phones as evidence in the case.

The video was shared on Instagram account @infobalitoday posted on Monday. It showed more than a dozen foreigners partying together in a private villa of the resort Island. They totally ignored the policies and government's call for social distancing to prevent and flatten the curve of Covid-19.

“Some foreigners had a party at a villa in Canggu district, Badung, Bali, on Sunday evening,” the video was captioned.

You can see the people enjoying cocktails and and Djing by a swimming pool. Adj. Sr. Comr. Roby Septiadi, Badung Police Chief stated that this party was held privately at a villa in Badung on Sunday evening. The party organizer in his initial statement said that only a few people were supposed to gather for the party. However around 15 people showed up.

Roby strictly advised both locals, expats and foreigners to refrain from hosting such parties or social gatherings during the outbreak. He further added that such events will be dispersed by the police as they violated a gubernatorial instruction on limiting crowds in public places and suspending public events.
