The Islamic University of North Sumatra (UISU) plans to
throw a vibrant welcome for Ariska Putri Pertiwi following news that its
student won the Miss Grand International 2016 pageant in Las Vegas, the US, on
Tuesday.
UISU’s School of Medicine first dean assistant Tri Makmur
told The Jakarta Post that Ariska’s
accomplishment brought glory not only to the university but also to Indonesia.
“We are very proud of her,” he said in Medan on Friday.
The school’s student executive body (BEM) head Akbar
Amrizali Nasution said the students planned to welcome Ariska, who is part of
the class of 2012 for medicine, at Kualanamu International Airport before
marching to the campus on Jl. Sisingamangaraja, Medan.
