Lion Air has a way of getting in trouble every now and then. They were issued a summon to meet with Transport Minister Budi Karya Sumadi on April 2, 2017 to meet them on urgent basis on April 3, 2017. The summon was issued to the company because of the recent troubling incidents which seem to be a trend now.

Budi Karya released a statement on Sunday evening that Lion Air may have committed various violations in the last few weeks which affected a lot of passengers and leaving them stranded.

“I also heard that some passengers were left behind [in Jakarta’s Soekarno-Hatta Airport] even though they checked in on time. And today, a Lion Air plane spilled its fuel on the tarmac of Juanda Airport in Surabaya,” Budi said yesterday, as quoted by Okezone.

Recent images of Lion Aircraft with a fuel leakage has gone viral over the social media as well. Edward Sirait the President of LionAir confirmed the leak and put it in these words " only a few liters were spilled"

Budi also gave out a statement " I don’t want these kinds of things to keep happening" however no specific statement was given hinting that Lionair may receive any sanctions over these incidents.

On top of the incidents that Budi mentioned, there are also reports that several Lion Air flights from Soekarno-Hatta have been delayed from yesterday afternoon until this morning, leaving hundreds stranded in the airport.
