TigerAir announced on last Friday that they are not going to fly to Bali anymore and are quitting their flights permanently. This decision is taken as a result of a little feud between Indonesian Authorities and Tigerair as Indonesian authorities cancelled their flights due to not meeting the new operating model of rules and regulations. TigerAir confirmed that it will take them at least six months to implement the new operating model which meets the requirements of flying to Indonesia. Tigerair is a budget project of Virgin Australia which is very famous among the tourists.
TigerAir was supposed to resume their flight operations on last Friday, however on Thursday they confirmed that they have not received the required approvals from Indonesian authorities and are still pending at their end. "Providing a reliable, low-cost service is critical for Tigerair Australia and our customers, and therefore our only option is to withdraw from flying to Bali altogether," Tigerair Chief Executive Rob Sharp said in a statement.
Tigerair also confirmed that the customers who booked their flights in advance are going to receive a refund and compensation. It is sad to see that they couldn't come to an agreement which could at the end of the day benefits the tourists and customers. What are your thoughts on it.
