non-stop jakarta-timika to be opened by batik air

Batik Air is a well reputed low cost subsidiary of Lion Air and favored by many travelers who travel on a budget. They have recentlyed opened a new direct route that will connect Jakarta and Timika, Papua.

The schedule for the route began on Oct. 28, The first daily flight operated with a new Airbus A320-200, which has the capacity of 12 business class and 144 economy class seats. Each seat is fully equipped with in-flight entertainment.

The maiden ID-6186 flight departed from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang, Banten, at 12:05 a.m on 28th October. local time and arrived at Mozes Kilangin International Airport in Timika, Papua, at 7:15 a.m.

The return flight flew from Timika at 7:55 Am and landed in oekarno-Hatta at 10:50 a.m. Timika is two-hours ahead of Jakarta.“We hope the new Jakarta-Timika route will be able to support the government’s program to achieve the target of attracting foreign and local tourists,” said CEO of Batik Air Achmad Luthfie in an official statement.

Batik Air has previously launched two different flights to Papua, known as Sorong and Manokwari in West Papua as well as Jayapura and Merauke (via Makassar in South Sulawesi) in Papua.

They also opened a new route on 28th to Timika from  Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport in Makassar, South Sulawesi. That flight will operate once daily.
