A Bali tourism analyst has encouraged Indonesian President Joko Widodo to revive the tourism sector in Bali by August 17th, 2021.

In response to the recent statement from the central government via the Maritime and Investment Coordinator Minister to begin gradually reopening economic activity in September 2021, Bali tourism analyst and practitioner, I Wayan Puspa Negara, stated that the central government may consider reopening the tourism sector in Bali even sooner. “I offered to the President that we begin reopening our tourism sector on August 17th, as a gift to Bali on the occasion of our Independence Day.” On Tuesday (3/8), Puspa Negara stated.

Negara also stated that numerous distinct locations in Bali, including Kuta, Legian, and Seminyak, had fulfilled all of the necessary steps to reopen their companies and resume normal operations. “All of our tourism enterprises have established adequate preventive plans for operation and have completed the Clean, Health, Safety, and Environment (CHSE) certification process. Aside from those regions, the Bali province administration has effectively delivered the Covid-19 vaccination to 100% of inhabitants in three green zone zones – Ubud, Sanur, and Nusa Dua.

Negara also suggested that the government change the 8:00 p.m. curfew in order to allow cafés and eateries to serve more clients. Meanwhile, the Head of Bali Tourist Agency, I Putu Astawa, agreed that the Bali tourism industry must reopen soon because Bali has already met all of the central government's conditions to function properly. Aside from the CHSE certificate and green zone sections of Covid-19, our airport is also equipped to accommodate more tourists since we have previously established adequate processes for dealing with the rush of guests upon their arrival.” Astawa said. Astawa also stated that the second dosage of the Covid-19 vaccination will be distributed in Bali in the near future. “If everything goes as planned, we expect to have finished delivering the second dosage of the vaccine to more than 70% of our population by September 2021. We sincerely hope that the tourism industry will be able to function by then.” Astawa came to a conclusion.
