“The number of Covid-19 transmissions has dropped dramatically. We also recorded zero Covid-19 deaths from December 26, 2021 to January 2, 2022, "Luhut said in a virtual press conference on Monday (3/1).

However, Luhut acknowledged that transmission of the Omicron variant is currently booming in Indonesia. “There are 152 cases of the Omicron variant, and 23% of them have recovered. This number is much better than in other countries,” added Luhut.

Luhut admitted that Indonesia was better prepared with the Omicron variant than the Delta variant. This time, all prevention protocols were strictly applied and the vaccines were distributed quickly.

He also explained that the 7-day quarantine applies to international visitors from all countries except UK, Norway, Denmark, Namibia, Angola, Zambia, Malawi, Eswatini, Mozambique, Lesotho, Zimbabwe, Botswana, South Africa and two other countries. which has not been announced.
