Bali Administration has been relying on local customs and traditions to face and fight the ongoing outbreak of Corona virus. They are insisting and trusting their on traditions rather than implementing the large-scale social restrictions.

I Wayan Koster, the Governor of Bali has made a claim that Bali has been successful in curbing the curve of the disease as the residents and the locals have strong belief in their local values and culture.

He also appreciated and acknowledged the efforts and the role of 1,493 traditional villages across the island in preventing outsiders from entering their respective areas, thus preventing them from contracting the novel coronavirus.

"Our residents are more disciplined thanks to their local customs, which they strictly obey. Traditional villages also have their own ancestral customs for rituals that can be enforced amid the outbreak,” Koster said.

He also added that several measures have been initiated by the local administration to prevent the outbreak to worsen any further in Bali, including proper preparation of health care facilities.

“We have been following COVID-19 management procedures since the first case was recorded in our region on March 10,” the governor said.

There are around 392 beds available on the Islands in various hospitals with proper isolation wards and skilled medical works for the Covid-19 referral.

Koster further said that Island's administration will continue its best efforts to constantly improve the healthcare facilities and measures by providing swab tests using the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) method in several hospitals and medical facilities.

As per the official count Bali has 328 confirmed cases as of Tuesday with only four casualities.
