Jakarta.The Ministry of Tourism and the Association of Indonesian Shopping Malls Managers, or APPBI, will hold month-long Wonderful Indonesia Culinary and Shopping Festival, or WICSF, at 150 malls in 19 cities across the country from Sept. 27.
The cities include Jakarta, West Java's Bandung, Surabaya and Malang in East Java, Yogyakarta, Solo and Semarang in Central Java, South Sumatra's Palembang, North Sumatra's Medan, Bali, South Sulawesi's Makassar, Pekanbaru in Riau and Balikpapan, East Kalimantan.
"WICSF is a perfect for the promotion of MSMEs [micro, small and medium enterprises] that specialize in traditional culinary products or handicraft," chairwoman of the ministry's tourism development acceleration team Vita Datau Messakh said in a statement on Sunday (03/09).
The festival will be launched at the Kota Kasablanka mall in South Jakarta.
"We will present traditional dances and a costumes made by local designers … visitors will be able to enjoy the performances while eating or shopping," said chairman of APPBI Stefanus Ridwan.
